One day, two thugs beat Michael up, leaving him in a coma. Somewhere between life and death, Michael awakes to find himself on an old-fashioned train, a time train the mysterious conductor calls it. Michael has been given a second chance; if he can save Marie, the mysterious ghost-girl from the past, he can save himself. Michael is only given a few instructions: he must save Marie, he cannot change history, and if he is ever in extreme trouble, he can use the scarf the conductor gives him to call for help. Armed only with this information Michael is put off the train. He steps into Nova Scotia, 1755, just before the cruel expulsion of the Acadians. Michael finds himself falling in love with Marie as he struggles to find a way to save her from a danger he can not name.
The Girl on Evangeline Beach is a coming-of-age adventure set against one of the most tragic occurrences in North American history.
